Destruction Bay Territorial Campground — Alaska Highway
Destruction Bay Territorial Campground sits directly on the northwestern shore of Kluane Lake, one of the largest lakes in Canada, with the St. Elias Mountains stacked up on the horizon. If you’re running the Kluane north shore road to Congdon Creek, staging for the Donjek Route wilderness traverse, or punching into the Dezadeash Lake backcountry, this is your last easy night with flush-style amenities. Fire rings, pit toilets, and some sites with genuine lake frontage make it a proper camp rather than just a pit stop. The sunsets over Kluane from here are not subtle.
Located right on the Alaska Highway in the hamlet of Destruction Bay, so access is pavement all the way — any rig fits. Fuel is available in the village. Busy in July and August with Alaska Highway travelers, so arrive before mid-afternoon if you want a lakeview site. No hookups, no showers, no cell service to speak of.
