Lac Le Jeune Provincial Park Campground — Kamloops Highland

Established Campground

Lac Le Jeune sits at roughly 1,275 metres elevation in the rolling highlands between Kamloops and Merritt, surrounded by lodgepole pine and open grassland. The campground has 144 sites, flush toilets, showers, a boat launch, and a sandy beach — more developed than most, but it’s busy in summer because the lake actually produces fish (rainbow trout). Fire rings at most sites. The vibe is family-heavy in July and August; shoulder season is quieter and the morning light on the lake is worth getting up for.

Access via Highway 5A south of Kamloops to the Lac Le Jeune Road turnoff — paved the whole way, any rig gets here. Reservations through Discover Camping are strongly recommended July through Labour Day. Outside of that window it’s first-come, and the place thins out considerably. A good resupply and rest stop between the Nicola Valley runs and the Coquihalla corridor.

High-country lake camp above Kamloops.
