Birdsville Hotel

The Birdsville Hotel is an institution – a grand old pub that’s been serving travelers since 1884 and marks the triumphant end of the Birdsville Track journey. The pub serves excellent counter meals, maintains a solid beer selection, and offers accommodation ranging from pub rooms to motel units. The main bar buzzes with conversation about track conditions, vehicle breakdowns, and desert adventures.

During September’s famous Birdsville Races, the town swells from 100 to 7000 people and accommodation books out months ahead. Outside race weekend, it’s a quieter but equally welcoming stop where completing the track feels like a genuine achievement worth celebrating.
