Nimpkish River Bridge — Zeballos Road Junction POI

The Nimpkish River bridge and Zeballos Road junction is where overlanders peel off the main Woss area logging network and commit to the run toward Zeballos and Fair Harbour. The river valley here is wild and impressive — old-growth timber, the green glacial push of the Nimpkish, and the quiet that settles in once you leave the main haul roads behind. It’s a legitimate waypoint for navigation: the FSR network in this part of Vancouver Island is active industrial logging country, and knowing exactly where you’re turning matters.

Active logging trucks use these roads — radio etiquette on the correct frequency for the area is non-negotiable. Roads are typically open to the public outside active logging hours, but that changes seasonally. The junction sees heavy use from people running the Zeballos to Fair Harbour route as well as access toward Tahsish Inlet. Top off fuel in Woss or Campbell River before committing to this corridor — services disappear fast once you head west.
