Medicine Bow National Forest Vedauwoo Dispersed Area
Dispersed camping scattered throughout the Vedauwoo Recreation Area among towering granite spires and balanced rocks. Sites tucked between boulders accommodate 12-15 rigs with natural windbreaks and privacy. Popular with rock climbers year-round, making weekends busy. Fire rings present at most established spots, but fire restrictions common during dry periods.
Access via I-80 Exit 329, then 2 miles south on Vedauwoo Road. All sites on maintained gravel suitable for any vehicle. Some spots require short walks from parking areas. Wind can be relentless — bring extra tent stakes and guy lines.
