BLM Willow Creek Dispersed Area
A classic high desert dispersed area stretching along a seasonal creek drainage, with sites scattered among weathered sandstone formations and juniper groves. The BLM manages this as open camping with no designated sites — plenty of room to spread out, with natural windbreaks and occasional shade. Popular with hunters in fall, otherwise quiet except for weekend warriors from Casper. Fire restrictions typically apply May through September.
Access via dirt ranch road that turns rough and rocky in the final two miles — high-clearance recommended but doable in dry conditions with careful driving. Creek runs intermittently; bring water. No services, no trash collection. Best spring through fall when weather permits.
