Bahía de los Ángeles Airport Airstrip

Remote desert airstrip serving as an emergency landing zone and reference point for overlanders navigating the central Baja peninsula.

This small dirt airstrip sits in the middle of nowhere between the Sierra de San Pedro Mártir and the Sea of Cortez, serving bush pilots and emergency landings. The runway is maintained but basic — no services, just open desert and a windsock. Overlanders use it as a navigation landmark and emergency reference point when running the backcountry routes between Ensenada and the bay.

Access is via rough dirt tracks that branch off the main Bahía de los Ángeles road. The area sees occasional use by pilots flying into the remote fishing camps, but it’s mostly just wind, rocks, and endless desert horizon. No facilities, no shade — bring everything you need.
