Los Padres National Forest Plaskett Ridge Dispersed Sites

Dispersed Camping

Plaskett Ridge Road winds through dense redwood and Douglas fir forests to scattered dispersed sites along the ridgeline. Morning fog rolls in from the Pacific, creating mystical conditions among the towering trees. Sites are small pull-offs that accommodate 1-2 vehicles each, with some offering glimpses of the ocean through the canopy on clear afternoons.

Access requires navigating narrow, winding dirt roads from Highway 1 — not recommended for large rigs or trailers. Road conditions deteriorate in winter rains. Fire restrictions typically in effect May through October.
