Coronado National Forest Telegraph Fire Road Dispersed Camping

High-elevation dispersed camping along Telegraph Fire Road in the Santa Teresa Mountains with sweeping desert views.

This dispersed camping area sits along Telegraph Fire Road (FR 35) in the Coronado National Forest, offering elevated views across the Sonoran Desert toward Mexico. Multiple pull-offs and cleared sites accommodate various rig sizes, with fire rings already established at popular spots. Elevation around 5,200 feet provides cooler temps than the valley floor, making it a solid summer escape for desert rats.

Access is via a well-maintained gravel road suitable for any high-clearance vehicle. Sites are first-come, first-served with standard 14-day Forest Service limits. Water and supplies available 25 miles north in Sonoita. Popular with hunters during fall season, so expect company October through December.
