Scattered camping opportunities along the rough dirt roads that wind through this desert mountain range east of Tombstone. Most sites are tucked between granite boulders and desert scrub, offering good wind protection and privacy. Popular areas include the old mining roads on the west slope and upper elevation spots near Cochise Head.
Access requires high-clearance and often 4WD depending on recent weather. Roads can be rough and unsigned – GPS essential. No facilities whatsoever, pack everything out. Incredible dark skies and solitude, but can get windy. Best avoided during summer heat.
