Finger Lakes National Forest Potomac Road Dispersed Sites
Scattered pull-offs along Potomac Road through former farmland now reverting to grassland and young forest. Sites range from mowed clearings that’ll fit RVs to rough field edges better suited for smaller rigs. Fire rings present at main sites, expansive views across valleys, occasional deer and wild turkey. Gets muddy in wet weather, popular with hunters in fall.
Gravel road access off County Road 414, easy for most vehicles in dry conditions but turns to soup when wet. No facilities beyond fire rings, pack everything out. Avoid during hunting seasons if you’re not wearing orange. Winter access depends on snowpack.
