Cinnamon Pass Trailhead

High-altitude 4WD trailhead launching point for one of Colorado's classic alpine passes at 12,640 feet.

This trailhead sits at the base of the notorious Cinnamon Pass climb, one of the most technical sections of the Alpine Loop. Small parking area with room for maybe 8-10 rigs, gets crowded fast during peak season. No facilities here — just a staging point before committing to the gnarly switchbacks ahead. Views open up quickly as you gain elevation toward the 12,640-foot pass.

Road condition varies wildly by season and weather. Early summer can mean snow drifts and mud, while late season brings loose rock and washouts. Check conditions before heading up — this isn’t a trail you want to get caught on in bad weather.
