Anza-Borrego Desert State Park Fish Creek Dispersed Area
Primitive dispersed sites scattered across Fish Creek wash and surrounding bajadas in classic Sonoran Desert terrain. Sites offer excellent stargazing with minimal light pollution and dramatic sunrise views over the Vallecito Mountains. Popular with geology enthusiasts and photographers exploring the nearby Wind Caves and Split Mountain. Campfires allowed in designated metal fire rings only.
Access via Split Mountain Road from Highway S2, then sandy washes requiring high clearance. Road conditions vary with flash flood activity — check with rangers. Best visited October through April to avoid extreme heat. No water or facilities available.
