Roosevelt National Forest Gordon Creek Dispersed Area
Several established dispersed sites scattered along Gordon Creek at treeline elevation, offering dramatic views into the Indian Peaks Wilderness. Sites range from single-vehicle pull-offs to larger clearings that can handle 3-4 rigs, most with fire rings and access to Gordon Creek for water. Aspens and scattered conifers provide some shelter but wind can be fierce.
Gordon Creek Road (FR 149) climbs steadily from Nederland — high-clearance recommended for the last 2 miles of rocky switchbacks. Snow typically blocks access November through May. Popular with jeepers and dispersed campers on summer weekends.
