Cenote X’kekén Dzitnup Sacred Swimming Cave
One of the most spectacular cenotes near Valladolid, X’kekén features a massive underground chamber with stalactites hanging over perfectly clear water. Natural light filters through a small opening in the cave roof, creating an almost mystical atmosphere. Swimming is allowed, and the water stays a constant cool temperature year-round.
Located about 7 kilometers southwest of Valladolid via paved road, then a short walk through jungle paths. Small entrance fee required. Gets crowded with tour groups between 10 AM and 3 PM, so early morning or late afternoon visits offer more solitude.
