Carrauntoohil Hag’s Glen Trailhead
Hag’s Glen trailhead sits at the end of a narrow tarmac road that becomes gravel for the final kilometer, providing the most popular approach to Carrauntoohil via the Devil’s Ladder route. The car park holds about 50 vehicles but fills completely on weekends and holidays — arrive before 8 AM or expect to park along the road. Stone walls mark the glen entrance, with clear trail markers pointing toward the mountain.
Access road is fine for any vehicle but gets narrow with passing places. The route can be muddy year-round, especially the final approach to the Devil’s Ladder. Weather changes fast on the Reeks — carry proper gear even on clear days.
