Mahon Falls Trailhead
Concrete parking area at the base of Mahon Falls, Ireland’s highest waterfall at 80 meters. The trailhead serves multiple routes including the popular Coumshingaun Loop and longer mountain crossings toward Kilmacthomas. Basic facilities with room for about 15 vehicles on gravel. The falls are spectacular after heavy rain but can be a trickle in dry summers.
Access via narrow mountain road from Mahon Bridge village. Road is paved but steep with tight bends – larger rigs should take care. Popular with weekend hikers, so arrive early during good weather. No facilities beyond the parking area.
