Chickasawhay River Natural Spring
This unnamed spring bubbles up from limestone bedrock about 50 yards from the Chickasawhay River’s east bank. Crystal clear water flows at a steady rate year-round, creating a small pool before joining the river proper. Local hunters and fishermen have used this spot for decades — you’ll find a crude fire ring and scattered camping sign nearby.
Access via FS Road 366A, then a quarter-mile walk through mixed pine and hardwood forest. The spring runs clean even during dry spells, making it reliable for water resupply when exploring the DeSoto National Forest. Filter recommended due to surface runoff potential.
