Vrelo Bosne Natural Spring
The source of the Bosna River emerges from underground karst caves in a beautiful park setting just outside Sarajevo. The spring produces thousands of gallons per hour of crystal-clear mountain water that’s been tested and deemed safe for drinking. Multiple access points allow easy filling of water containers and tanks. The area is developed as a public park with walking paths, benches, and picnic areas.
Access is via paved roads through Ilidža suburb. The spring flows year-round but is coldest and clearest in winter and spring. Parking can be crowded on weekends as it’s popular with locals. Best visited early morning or late afternoon for vehicle access closest to the spring.
