Kangerlussuaq Airport Terminal Building

Point of Interest

The terminal at Kangerlussuaq serves as the main entry point for most overland expeditions into Greenland’s interior. Inside you’ll find customs, a small cafe, restrooms, and basic supplies. The building stays heated year-round and offers refuge from the harsh Arctic winds. WiFi is available but can be spotty during peak travel times.

The terminal sits at the end of the fjord where the tarmac meets the tundra. Most overlanders use this as a staging area to finalize gear checks and coordinate with local contacts before heading out on the inland ice roads. The facility operates on flight schedules, so services may be limited during off-peak periods.

Arctic gateway and final resupply before the ice.
