Scoresby Sound Research Station
This seasonal research station operates as both a scientific base and critical waypoint for overlanders running the remote Scoresby Land coastal routes. The compound includes a communications building, emergency shelter, and small supply cache with basic provisions. Staff can provide weather updates, route conditions, and emergency assistance during the summer research season.
Located at the head of the world’s largest fjord system, the station sits on a protected gravel bench accessed by a rough track from the main coastal route. Active only June through August when research teams are present. Emergency shelter available year-round but resources are extremely limited outside the active season.
