Dinny the Dinosaur and Mr. Rex are concrete giants that tower over I-10 near Cabazon. Built by folk artist Claude Bell starting in 1975, these roadside attractions gained fame in ‘Pee-wee’s Big Adventure’ and represent classic American highway kitsch. Dinny is a 150-foot-long brontosaurus you can climb inside, while the 65-foot T-Rex houses a gift shop filled with dinosaur memorabilia.
Open daily with a small admission fee to climb inside Dinny. The site includes picnic areas and is wheelchair accessible. Popular with families and road trippers, it can get busy on weekends. Exit right off I-10 at Cabazon Road — you can’t miss them.
