This massive preserve offers dozens of trailheads accessing rugged desert terrain perfect for hiking, mountain biking, and desert photography. The Gateway Trailhead is the main access point with ample parking, restrooms, and interpretive displays. Trails range from easy nature walks to challenging summit routes with panoramic valley views.
Open year-round but summer hiking requires dawn starts due to extreme heat. Most popular during cooler months October through April. Well-marked trails with excellent signage throughout the preserve.
