Nossob Rest Camp — Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park

Established Campground

Nossob is the northern anchor of the Kgalagadi’s Nossob road. It’s a fenced SANParks rest camp with campsites, a small shop, fuel, and a waterhole just outside the wire where the wildlife shows up on its own schedule. Expect red sand, thornveld shade, and a night soundtrack of jackals and the odd lion. It sits well out from the gate at Twee Rivieren, so fill up, check your spares, and carry more water than you think you need. Camps are busiest in the cooler, drier months and during South African school holidays, so book early.

The Nossob road is graded gravel and sand, and most 2WD vehicles can manage it. Corrugations and loose sand patches can still catch you out, so drop your tyre pressures a little and keep speeds sensible. Park rules keep you inside camps after dark. Confirm fuel and shop stock with SANParks before you commit to a long leg. Have a dirty day.
