Thor4x4 is a Mendoza outfit that designs and builds its own 4×4 equipment. Its roof-top tent is made in-house, and the range also includes bumpers for Toyota, Ford Ranger and Jeep Wrangler, differential protection, and winches. It also stocks ARB camp chairs. The shop says it has 15-plus years behind it and runs a showroom in Dorrego, in the Guaymallén district. That’s about six minutes from downtown Mendoza by their own count.
For overlanders, Mendoza is the staging town for Paso Cristo Redentor, the Ruta 40 run south and the high-Andes tracks toward Chile.
