Trollstigen Camping og Gjestegård — Åndalsnes Valley Floor Campground
Sit in the Isterdalen valley floor with the Rauma River running alongside and the Trollstigen road coiling up the cliff face directly above you. This is a proper serviced campground — level pitches, electrical hookups, hot showers, a camp kitchen — run by a local family that knows what overlanders need. It fills hard in July and August when Trollstigen draws coachloads of tourists, so get there early or book ahead. Cabins available too if you need a dry night.
Access is paved all the way — you’re basically parked at the base of one of Norway’s most dramatic mountain roads. Cell signal is reasonable in the valley. Trollstigen itself is typically open late May through October depending on snowpack — confirm with Statens vegvesen before you drive up early or late season. A solid anchor camp for the whole Åndalsnes-Valldal corridor.
