Home Valley Station Campground — Gibb River Road Eastern End

Established Campground

Home Valley Station sits right at the eastern end of the Gibb River Road, straddling the Pentecost River flats with the Cockburn Range as a backdrop. The campground runs both powered and unpowered sites, flush toilets, hot showers, a camp kitchen, and a small store with fuel. It’s a genuine working cattle station with a pub-style bar — after days of corrugated dirt, that cold drink hits different. Busy during peak dry season (June–August) and you’ll share it with caravans, but the landscape more than makes up for the company.

Access is via the Gibb River Road, roughly 115 km east of the Gibb/El Questro junction. The Pentecost River crossing immediately adjacent can be impassable after rain — check conditions before committing. Fuel is available on-site but verify hours and availability before relying on it as a sole source this far east.

Last cold beer before the Pentecost crossing.
