El Questro Wilderness Park — Emma Gorge Road Corridor Dispersed Camp

East of the Pentecost River crossing and deep inside El Questro Wilderness Park, the Emma Gorge access track threads through classic Kimberley spinifex and sandstone country. Flat red-dirt pullouts along this corrugated track have long been used by self-sufficient travellers passing through on station permits. The vibe is raw outback Kimberley — orange rock walls, boab trees, serious heat, and the kind of silence that reminds you how far from anywhere you actually are. No facilities whatsoever.

Access requires an El Questro Wilderness Park pass (fee applies — not free). The track is 4WD only and genuinely corrugated. Dry season only — May to October. Wet season closes the whole station. No fires permitted during fire restriction periods, which runs most of the dry season. Verify current pass requirements directly with El Questro before you go, as conditions and policies shift annually.
