Rawnsley Park Station Campground
Rawnsley Park sits right on the edge of the Flinders Ranges National Park, backed up against the southern wall of Wilpena Pound. This is a working station that runs a proper campground — powered sites, unpowered dirt sites, flush toilets, hot showers, and a small shop stocking basics and fuel. It’s the kind of place you roll into after a long stretch on the Outback roads and feel genuinely relieved. Popular with grey nomads, serious overlanders, and hikers doing the Heysen Trail. Book ahead in autumn school holidays or you’ll be squeezed out.
Access off Rawnsley Park Road is graded dirt, passable in a 2WD under normal conditions. The station is about 450km north of Adelaide. From here you can access the iconic Wilpena Pound walk, ABC Range tracks, and Bunyeroo Valley — all within a short drive. Fuel is available on-site but verify current pricing before you count on it.
