Bullo River Station Campground

Bullo River Station sits hard against the Northern Territory’s western edge near the WA border, deep in some of the most isolated country in Australia. It’s a working cattle station that takes self-sufficient overlanders, and the campground is basic by design — fire rings, drop toilets, and a river that’ll swallow your ambition if you underestimate it. This is serious remote country: fuel up in Kununurra or Katherine before you commit, because there’s nothing out here.

Access is via the Buntine Highway and station tracks — expect corrugations that’ll shake loose anything you haven’t properly secured. Wet season (October–April) will likely close access entirely. Dry season only. River crossings on station tracks can be croc country — no swimming, no exceptions. Book ahead through the station directly.
