Urimbirra Campground – Flinders Ranges National Park

Established Campground

Urimbirra is one of the main campgrounds inside Flinders Ranges National Park, tucked into the folds of the Elder Range country in South Australia. You get fire rings, drop toilets, and a generator area — nothing flash, but honest and functional. The landscape does the heavy lifting: red quartzite ridgelines, wedge-tailed eagles overhead, and that unmistakable Flinders light at golden hour. It fills up hard over school holidays and long weekends, especially April through October when the heat backs off.

Access is via sealed road from Hawker to Wilpena Pound, and the campground is manageable for any tow rig or van. Book through the South Australian National Parks booking system — sites don’t last when the calendar fills. Fees apply. Campfires are subject to SA fire ban days, so check before you strike a match.
