Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest — Naches Trail Midpoint Dispersed Camp
The mid-section of the Naches Trail corridor — running through Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest on the old wagon road alignment — offers scattered dispersed camping on flat ground along the route. Sites sit in a mix of open meadow edge and lodgepole pine, with views east toward the Kittitas Valley on clear days. No developed facilities whatsoever — this is genuine pack-it-in, pack-it-out territory. Capacity is self-limiting by the terrain; you’ll rarely find more than a handful of rigs sharing the same pullout. Peak use is mid-July through September when the track is fully dry.
The Naches Trail proper is a historic wagon road route requiring 4WD with at least moderate clearance — low-range is needed in sections. Several water crossings exist along the route that can be impassable in early season. No signage marks dispersed areas; experienced route-finding required. Confirm current road conditions with the Naches Ranger District before departure.
