Nata Lodge Campsite — Nata Village Gateway

Established Campground

Nata Lodge sits about 11km south of Nata village on the A3 and has been welcoming overlanders rolling off the Kalahari for years. Established campsites sit under mature trees — genuine shade in a country that doesn’t always offer it. Ablution blocks are well maintained with hot showers, a swimming pool on-site, and a bar and restaurant if you want a cold Hansa and something cooked over a real fire. The lodge marks the eastern terminus region of the Trans-Kalahari Crossing and is the logical last camp before pushing into Makgadikgadi Pans National Park or continuing north to Kasane.

Access is direct off the A3 tar — no clearance required. Stock up on fuel and water here; Nata village itself has a fuel station and basic supplies. High season (June–September) fills the lodge quickly, so radio ahead or book online. Cell signal is decent on Mascom and Orange networks.

Eastern Kalahari camp, salt pan gateway.
