Patagonia Lake State Park
This 265-acre lake sits in rolling oak grassland at the foot of the Santa Rita Mountains, providing a rare water recreation spot in southern Arizona’s high desert. The park offers 105 campsites split between lakeside spots and higher elevation areas with mountain views. Most sites accommodate RVs up to 45 feet with electric hookups, and the lake supports decent bass and bluegill fishing. The elevation keeps temperatures more moderate than lower desert areas.
Popular with Phoenix and Tucson weekend warriors, so reservations are recommended for winter months. The lake level can drop significantly during drought years, affecting boat launches and swimming areas. Patagonia townsite is just 7 miles north with basic supplies and the famous Patagonia Pie Company.
