Eighteen sites tucked in the pines at the end of Bishop Creek’s South Fork road, with Lake Sabrina’s blue water just a short walk away. Sites are well-spaced with tables, fire rings, and bear boxes — this is active bear country, so food storage is mandatory. The elevation means cool nights even in summer, and snow can linger into June. Water from hand pumps, vault toilets, no hookups.
Access via paved Highway 168 then good gravel for the final few miles. Sites fill up fast during peak season, especially weekends. The campground closes in winter, typically October through May depending on snow. Perfect base camp for exploring the high country before committing to the Dusy-Ershim route.
