Roosevelt National Forest Kelly Flats Dispersed Sites
Kelly Flats offers a string of dispersed sites along the Cache la Poudre River, tucked between granite outcrops and tall pines. Most sites accommodate 1-2 rigs with established fire rings and plenty of space to spread out. The river provides a natural soundtrack, and fishing is decent for browns and rainbows. Weekends fill up fast with Front Range folks, but weekdays stay mellow.
Access is straightforward via Forest Road 162 — graded gravel suitable for any vehicle. Sites start appearing about 2 miles up from the highway. No facilities beyond fire rings and makeshift tables fashioned from logs and rocks. Cell service is spotty to none.
