Chippewa National Forest Blackduck Lake Dispersed Area
Four or five undeveloped sites scattered along the south shore of Blackduck Lake, each with direct water access and room for 2-3 rigs. Sites are natural clearings in mixed pine and birch forest with fire rings left by previous campers. Loons call across the water most evenings, and walleye fishing is solid from shore or small boats. Mosquitoes can be fierce June through August.
Access via Forest Road 2240 off Highway 46, then 3 miles of maintained gravel. Any vehicle can make it in dry conditions. Popular with locals on weekends during fishing season, but weekdays stay quiet. Open year-round but winter access requires snowmobile or skiing.
