Pennypack Creek Natural Spring
This natural spring emerges from limestone bedrock along Pennypack Creek’s east branch, providing clean, cold water year-round. Located within Pennypack Park’s 1,600-acre trail system, the spring sits about 200 yards off the main creek trail via a well-worn footpath. Water flows at roughly 5-10 GPM depending on season, with deepest flow during spring snowmelt and after heavy rains. Locals have used this source for generations.
Access requires a quarter-mile hike from the nearest parking area off Pine Road. Spring box is unmarked but obvious once you locate it. Test or treat water as with any natural source, though the limestone filtration is excellent. Best accessed during daylight hours when park is officially open.
