Bishop Creek Lodge Natural Hot Spring
Three natural hot spring pools ranging from 98°F to 104°F sit alongside Bishop Creek with direct views of the Sierra high country. The lodge maintains the pools and charges a day-use fee, but the setting is worth it — soaking while watching alpenglow hit the peaks beats any resort spa. The main pool holds about 8 people, with two smaller pools upstream.
Located 15 miles southwest of Bishop on Highway 168, then 2 miles up South Lake Road. The road is paved but steep with tight switchbacks — not recommended for big rigs. Open year-round but access can be limited by snow November through March. Day-use only, but several campgrounds are within a few miles.
