Watkins Glen State Park Glen Creek Campground
Glen Creek Campground sprawls across wooded hills just below Watkins Glen’s dramatic stone gorge and its chain of waterfalls. The campground offers 267 sites ranging from primitive tent spots to full-hookup RV sites that handle big rigs. Modern bathhouses with hot showers, a camp store, and playground keep families happy. The real draw is walking access to the Gorge Trail — 1.5 miles of stone steps and bridges past 19 waterfalls carved through Devonian shale.
The campground sits right in Watkins Glen village, so you’re walking distance to restaurants and the famous NASCAR track. Reservations essential during race weekends and peak summer. Open May through mid-October. The gorge trail can be icy and closed in winter, but the camping area and lower falls stay accessible.
