Tallulah Point Overlook
This granite ledge sits 800 feet above the Tallulah River, offering sweeping views across the gorge system and north Georgia mountains. The overlook provides a commanding perspective of the river’s path through ancient metamorphic rock, with visibility extending 20+ miles on clear days. Stone safety barriers mark the cliff edge, but exercise caution — the drop is vertical and unforgiving.
Access via a short 0.2-mile trail from the Tallulah Point parking area off Old Highway 441. The trail gains 150 feet through mixed hardwood forest before emerging onto the exposed granite. Best visibility in fall and winter when leaves are down. Avoid during ice storms when the granite becomes treacherous.
