Tallulah Gorge State Park

Point of Interest

Tallulah Gorge cuts 1,000 feet deep through solid granite, creating Georgia’s most dramatic canyon landscape. The suspension bridge spans the rim 80 feet above the Tallulah River, offering vertigo-inducing views down to the boulder-choked bottom. Multiple rim trails lead to different overlook points, with Hurricane Falls visible during Georgia Power’s scheduled water releases from upstream Tugalo Dam.

Day-use only facility with ample parking and well-maintained trails. Gorge floor access requires free permits (limited daily) from the visitor center. Best photography light hits the canyon walls mid-morning. Located right off US-441, making it an easy stop when running north Georgia mountain trails.
