Black Rock Mountain State Park
Black Rock Mountain sits at 3,640 feet elevation in Georgia’s Blue Ridge Mountains, offering 44 campsites spread across two loops with full hookups, restrooms, and hot showers. The park’s namesake black granite outcrop provides sweeping views of the Chattahoochee National Forest valleys below. Sites are well-spaced among hardwood forest, with fire rings and picnic tables standard. Summer weekends fill up fast with Atlanta refugees.
Access is via paved state park road off US-441 north of Clayton. Open year-round but water gets shut off in winter. The park serves as an excellent base camp for Forest Road 77 runs and Warwoman Creek access, with Clayton’s resupply just 12 miles south.
