Grundy County Conservation Area Campground
A quiet conservation area campground tucked into the Weldon River valley with scattered sites beneath mature cottonwoods and oaks. Sites are primitive with fire rings and picnic tables, but no hookups or developed facilities beyond pit toilets and a hand pump well. The area draws hunters in fall and anglers year-round, but stays relatively peaceful during off-season weekends.
Access is via gravel road from Highway 65, with the last mile dropping into the river bottom on a narrow but well-maintained track. Sites are first-come, first-served and fill quickly during Missouri’s firearms deer season in November. Water quality from the hand pump varies seasonally — bring backup or test before drinking.
