Tishomingo State Park

Established Campground

Tishomingo sprawls across 1,500 acres of sandstone bluffs and hardwood forest in northeast Mississippi’s foothills. The park offers 62 developed campsites with water and electric hookups, plus primitive sites scattered through the rocky terrain. Bear Creek cuts through the middle, creating swimming holes and rock formations that feel more like Arkansas than the Mississippi Delta.

The main campground stays busy spring through fall, but the primitive sites offer more solitude. Roads are paved to the main areas, then turn to gravel for backcountry access. The park’s nature trail system connects to longer hiking routes through the surrounding Natchez Trace corridor.
