Cape York Peninsula Natural Spring

Water Source

Sweet, clear spring emerging from granite boulders about 200 meters off the Telegraph Track. Flows year-round but strongest during and after the wet season. The pool is deep enough for a quick rinse, and the water tastes clean — locals have used it for generations. Surrounded by paperbark trees and fan palms, with good shade for a lunch stop.

Track to the spring is rough but manageable in any 4WD. No camping here — it’s a day-use water source. Crocs are theoretically possible this far south, so keep your eyes open near any water in Cape York country.
