Olnes Pond Campground — Elliott Highway Corridor, BLM Fairbanks District
Olnes Pond is a BLM-managed campground sitting off the Elliott Highway north of Fox. It’s boreal forest and a small pond, with a loop of spurs in the black spruce and birch. It’s a quiet place with no resort trimmings. Expect a basic, developed site: designated spurs and pit toilets. It’s a good spot to top off water in Fairbanks, get your rig sorted, and start the Elliott fresh instead of burning daylight on the way out of town.
Bring your own water and plan on packing your trash out unless you see a bin. Summer means mosquitoes thick enough to chew on, so bring a head net and bug dope. Fees, site count, and stay limits change, so check with BLM’s Eastern Interior Field Office before you roll in. The Elliott is paved for the first stretch and turns to gravel past the Dalton Highway junction, so fuel up in Fox or Fairbanks. Services are thin up the road.
