Camping Municipal de Cachi
This is the basic municipal campground in Cachi, the whitewashed adobe town at the western end of the Cuesta del Obispo. It’s no-frills: grassy pitches, shade trees, toilets and showers, and the town’s plaza, bakeries and empanada joints a short walk away. Cachi sits around 2,280 meters, so nights get sharp even when the days are warm. Pack a proper sleeping bag outside summer. Long weekends and the Fiesta season fill it with Argentine families, so expect noise and asado smoke. Midweek it’s usually quiet.
Getting here from the Recta del Tin Tin means pavement or good ripio for the last stretch, so any rig makes it. Ruta Provincial 33 over the Cuesta del Obispo is the dirt part, and it gets foggy and slick in the summer rains. Fuel and resupply are in town, but cash rules, so carry pesos. Prices, hours and which facilities are working change often, so ask at the municipal office or confirm locally before you roll in. Have a dirty day.
