Prudhoe Bay General Store is literally the end of the road — the northernmost place you can drive to in North America. This industrial supply hub serves the Prudhoe Bay oil fields and the handful of overlanders who make it up the brutal Dalton Highway. Fuel, basic groceries, and emergency supplies are available, but don’t expect variety or cheap prices. Everything gets trucked 500 miles from Fairbanks.
Access requires security clearance and escort through the oil field complex. You can’t just wander around — this is a working industrial site, not a tourist destination. The store hours vary with oil field operations, and they close completely during some winter months. Call ahead or you might find a locked door after that 1,000-mile round trip from Fairbanks.
