The visitor centre sits at Hattie Cove, the primary access point for Pukaskwa National Park along Lake Superior’s wild northern shore. Staff provide backcountry camping permits, weather updates, and trail conditions for the coastal hiking trail that runs 60 kilometers through boreal forest and along dramatic shoreline cliffs. The centre also has displays on the park’s wildlife and Indigenous history, plus basic supplies and maps.
Open seasonally from late May through early October. The final 3 kilometers to reach the centre follow a gravel road off Highway 627. This is your last stop for information before heading into one of Ontario’s most remote protected areas.
